An Enjoyable Day at Deep Cove, 2015, Watercolour 15x11in,- by Mohammad Reza Atashzad-1
District Library Gallery | October 25 – December 11, 2017

OPENING RECEPTION: FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 4:30-6:30PM

This exhibition features the work of 12 local artists who have been inspired by scenes and scenery of the North Shore in their work. Media presented include paintings in watercolour, acrylic and oil as well as limited edition prints. Styles range from realistic to comic, with each artist bringing their own interpretation to scenes that are familiar to many of us.

The works have been brought together to create a 2018 calendar of entirely North Shore imagery, including the areas of the City of North Vancouver, the District of North Vancouver, and the District of West Vancouver. The calendars are a promotional and fundraising tool for the upcoming North Shore Cultural Mapping Project, spearheaded by the North Vancouver Community Arts Council.

Participating artists: Mohammad Reza Atashzad, Caroline Chao, Myranda Storm, Ewa Pluciennik, Ken Dawes, Frank Townsley, Vicki Lynn Rae, Marnie Boullard, Miles Brook, George Wilkinson, Kathy Daley, Graham Harrop.

If you miss this show, or just want to see the works again, the exhibition will travel to West Vancouver, to be displayed at the Silk Purse Gallery, January 9 – 21, 2018.

An initiative of the North Vancouver Community Arts Council, the North Shore Cultural Map will showcase the art and cultural diversity of the North Shore Region, including the City of North Vancouver, the District of North Vancouver, the District of West Vancouver, the Squamish Nation and the Tsleil-Waututh Nation.
